Sex Venue — Code of Practice ACON
has developed a voluntary Code of Practice for sex venues such as Ken’s.
Ken’s is fully committed to the code for the safety of the staff and for
the safety, protection and enjoyment of patrons.
The code sets standards around:
- Access to free condoms and water based lubricant for patrons in all areas
- Adequate levels of lighting particularly around safe sex information
- Free information on safe sex, HIV, Hepatitis and drugs
- Staff training opportunities from ACON on infection control, HIV, STIs,
Hepatitis and drug use
- Infection control standards including cleaning and food preparation
- Safe disposal equipment
The Code of Practice is based around the principles that all patrons have the
right to practice safe and consensual sex and that both patrons and staff have
the right to information about safe sex and to be treated with respect. Ken’s at
Kensington supports this Code of Practice and has
signed up as a commitment to the health and wellbeing of patrons and
staff.
